I’m really excited to be sharing a 2017 Foodie Gift Guide with you! This isn’t something I put out every year because life = busy for all of us all the time, but there were just so many things I was excited about this year that I had to share with you! I’m not one to promote consumerism, and my eyes literally pop when I see people including $600 items in their gift guides. With this in mind I tried to keep everything pretty low cost here with a few splurges mixed in incase you want to treat yourself this Christmas!
I try to get my shopping done a little earlier every year so I can really enjoy the season, so I wanted to get these out to you before Black Friday rolls around. Can we just get one thing straight? We’re not shopping on Thanksgiving. Just – don’t. Please? Let’s be sure retailers know that we’re just not into that trend. Get up at 4am on Friday if you must, or be like me and make one massive Amazon order dangerously close to Christmas Eve. Enough politics, let’s talk foodie gifts!
Love Real Food – I recently picked this up at the library and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve never wanted to make so many recipes out of one cookbook before. Nearly every page is packed with beautiful photos and fresh, delicious recipes. I’m hoping to grab a copy for myself soon!
Bitterman’s Dessert Salt Set – I always feel like a weirdo when I talk to people about dessert salt, but it’s a thing! And it’s so important to the final flavor of your dessert. The foodie in your life will love experimenting with the chocolate, lemon, and Halen Mon Gold salts, not to mention you will also potentially reap the benefits.
Walnut Wood Cutting Board – Beautiful cutting boards are about more than just cutting. They can also add a decorative touch to the kitchen or Instagram photos. I absolutely love the look of this walnut board and the contrast it provides to things like bread, citrus, and cheese.
Children’s Enamelware Bake Set – Let’s not forget about child foodies! This is a little more money than I would probably spend on a kids’ gift, but it could be a fun thing to give a family with a few kids who like to cook. The red enamel is beautiful and the set includes a lot of options like muffin tray, cookie sheet, cake pan, and loaf pan.
Chef’s Knife – No lie, I have three chef’s knives hanging on a metallic strip in my kitchen. I use at least two of them every day and wouldn’t argue with getting a new one every now and then. A chef’s knife is a staple of the kitchen that I highly recommend.
Spices of Life Studs – I love earrings made from natural materials. These spice earrings are not only beautiful, but they’re made from some of my favorite kitchen spices like crushed red pepper, salt and pepper, saffron, and raw sugar. I received some gifts from Uncommon Goods last Christmas and I can vouch that the quality is really great!
Half Baked Harvest Cookbook – Tieghan is one of my favorite food photographers. While her recipes are a little more complex than I like to tackle on a weeknight, I could just hold and look at this book over and over. All of the food is beautifully styled and photographed, not to mention full of flavor and texture.
Glazed Travel Mug – Whether it’s for coffee, tea, or even water, this is a fun way to make the statement “I love donuts” while on the go. Everyone should have a donut in the morning, even if it’s just in mug form.
Bark Cross-Back Kitchen Apron – I may have mentioned this item to you somewhere in my favorites along the way, but I had to include it again. This is the apron I wear every time I’m in the kitchen and not only do I think it’s gorgeous but it covers every part of me that I have the potential to spill on.
Chemex 6 Cup Classic Series Glass Coffee Maker – I don’t drink coffee myself, but I’m well aware that most people do. I’m also a sucker for beautiful things, and the Chemex is hands down the most beautiful way to make coffee in my opinion. Don’t forget filters!
Sweetapolita’s Choose Your Own Sprinkles + Twinkles Pack – I reserve sprinkle usage for very special occasions, which means when I use them I want them to be the best. Sweetapolita has tons of beautiful sprinkles for every occasion, and with a price point like that it might not be something someone would want to splurge on for themselves. In my opinion, the best gifts are the ones that people want but can’t justify, which makes this just the right thing to give the casual baker in your life.
Pumpkin Spice Earrings – If you’re as pumpkin spice obsessed as most of the world is right now, or if your mom makes a killer pumpkin pie that everyone’s always talking about, these earrings are for you! Did I mention there is REAL PUMPKIN SPICE mixed right into the clay?! These look like they might sell out fast, but there is a matching necklace in the shop as well as a number of other cute food earrings.
Coffee Art Print Mini – Ever want to dip your toes in a pool full of coffee? Maybe not, but I know plenty of people who wouldn’t mind at least drinking that much. This art print is a fun way to decorate any coffee lover’s space.
Fresh Herbs iPhone Case – I love the neutral colors and touch of nature in this phone case. This is great for someone who loves to cook, garden, or eat, just make sure you know what kind of phone the gift recipient has.
Instant Pot – This is easily the trendiest item this year, and would surely delight anyone who spends time perusing food blogs. Tons of bloggers are catering to this trend, which makes cooking super quick and easy. This is also one of the higher end items on the list at a price of around $150, so maybe you’ll be treating yourself this year!
