Happy Mother’s Day! I really only enjoy two holidays – Mother’s Day and my birthday. Selfish, I know. But as a mom (and an enneagram type 1) every other holiday just feels like more work for me. I have no idea what I’m going to do today (or what will be done for me), but I’m just hoping to relax a bit.
Homeschool activities are starting to wrap up and we’ll be going roller skating for gym class this week! I can’t remember the last time I went roller skating, so I’m a little excited. I secretly wish I could join a roller derby some day, but I’m probably too old and injured already, so I’ll just have to settle for chasing the kids around on the rink.
Here’s what else has been going on lately:

4. TV Time
Have you been keeping up with Game of Thrones?? Every week is pretty much the most intense movie ever at this point. Only two left! I can’t even deal. I rounded up all my Game of Thrones recipes for you if you’re looking for something to make for the finale! I’ve also been loving Barry (the Tae Kwon Do episode was one of the best pieces of television I’ve ever seen) and I just watched Hasan Minhaj’s special Homecoming King on Netflix and can’t recommend it enough.
5. New Knife
Cangshan sent me their S1 – series Chef Knife (affiliate link) to try out and I had to tell you what a game changer it was. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been using the same (unsharpened) knives for years, so it was a real treat to switch to a high-quality, super sharp knife. I didn’t realize just how much work I was putting into cutting and chopping my food, this knife just slides through everything!
6. What’s Your Scent
I took Lola shopping a couple weeks ago and turned her onto the joys of dolling yourself up with makeup and perfume testers. That sent me down a rabbit hole of remembering what kind of scents I was into at her age and it was… embarrassing. I remember my first perfume was LEMON scented. That sounds about right. It was also the Bath & Body Works hay day, where I would always get Warm Vanilla Sugar or Calming Waters. I am so predictable.
7. On My Menu Lately
Bran Granola

Vegetarian Burrito Bowls

Big Batch Ricotta Pancakes

Cheesy Hummus and Veggie Panini

Orecchiette with Spinach and Butter Beans
