A greyhound cocktail using the classic grapefruit and vodka, with the addition of club soda, honey syrup, and thyme. A refreshing drink for New Year’s Eve, baby showers, or girl’s night!
Dip the rim of a rocks glass into grapefruit juice (or rub the squeezed grapefruit half around the rim), then into turbinado sugar. Add ice to the glass.
Sparkling Greyhound Cocktail
Pour vodka, grapefruit juice, and honey syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the prepared glass.
Top with club soda and garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.
Notes
* To make honey syrup for cocktails, combine 2 parts honey with 1 part warm water and stir until combined.
Tips for making the best grapefruit vodka drinks
Strain your grapefruit juice through a fine mesh strainer before adding to the mix to remove any pulp
Use a high quality vodka such as Ketel One, Grey Goose, Titos, or New Amsterdam.
Always use freshly opened club soda. If you’re only making one drink, consider buying the tiny bottles of club soda.
Be sure to make the honey syrup rather than using straight honey or it won’t mix properly.
Tips for customizing your greyhound cocktail
Swap the vodka for gin
Use simple syrup in place of the honey syrup
Skip the sugar rim or swap it for sprinkles or salt
Swap the club soda for pamplemousse flavored La Croix
