Top tips
Is this chocolate cookie dough vegan?
Yes. To be sure your cookie dough is vegan, choose a dairy-free chocolate chip brand such as Enjoy Life (affiliate link) or use carob chips.
Why isn’t it the right consistency?
A lot of the texture depends on the temperature of your ingredients. If the dough comes out too runny, stick it in the refrigerator for a couple minutes. If it is too stiff, microwave it for just a couple seconds until softened.
Is cookie dough safe to eat?
This edible cookie dough is safe to eat because it doesn’t use raw eggs and we’ve heat treated the flour. There are some concerns about the safety of consuming raw flour, so please follow the instructions in order to prevent foodborne illness.
Can this edible cookie dough be baked into chocolate cookies?
No. This cookie dough is meant to be safely eaten as it is. It does not have the ingredients necessary, such as baking soda, to bake into a cookie.
Could I add dough balls to my ice cream?
This cookie dough is best slightly chilled or at room temperature, so I would recommend adding it to ice cream as a topping rather than a mix in. Because of the coconut oil base, it would be too firm to add to ice cream that will then be frozen.
