This pineapple margarita recipe is special, because it’s mixed with earthy turmeric and served with a sweet and spicy rim! Easy to make and so refreshing, this is a cocktail you’ll make over and over again.

Let’s take happy hour, Taco Tuesday, Cinco de Mayo, and girls’ night to another level with the best pineapple margarita recipe!

I love easy cocktails, and this one is right up there because it uses only a handful ingredients.

Tequila and pineapple juice are a match made in heaven, and I’ve added turmeric to create a beautiful, golden color and earthy flavor. We’re also taking our rim up a notch with a combination of chili powder and sugar!

I made this for a Zoom party (wow, that is a thing now?!), but it would taste great on any warm, summer night or all-day long on the 4th of July.

    Top tips

How many margaritas does this make?

This recipe is for one margarita, but it is easily scaled up for adding to a pitcher or serving a crowd. The chili powder rim will serve more than one cocktail, but you can adjust it up or down as needed by using equal amounts of chili powder and sugar.

What kind of tequila should I use for a margarita?

I like using 1800 reposado tequila, but you could also use silver tequila or mezcal to make this margarita recipe.

1800 also makes a pineapple margarita mix, which you could use and mix with turmeric for an even easier margarita.

Can I use fresh pineapple juice?

Yes, if you have a juicer (affiliate link) you could definitely use fresh pineapple juice pressed from fresh pineapples. It would be very difficult to juice a pineapple without a juicer.

What if I don’t have a cocktail shaker?

I have a cocktail shaker similar to the one linked here, but if you don’t own a cocktail shaker you can shake this cocktail in a mason jar or stir it together in a glass.

How to cut the lime for a margarita

You can cut the lime however you’d like to rim the glass. I like to cut it in half lengthwise, then again lengthwise into quarters to create a nice wedge.

    Tips for customizing

    • Skip the turmeric if you prefer
    • Replace the tequila and cointreau with a combination of pineapple juice and orange juice for a virgin pineapple margarita
    • Swap the reposado tequila for silver tequila or mezcal for a pineapple mezcal margarita
    • Instead of the chili powder/sugar rim, use coarse salt
    • Swap the agave for simple syrup or honey syrup
    • Use triple sec in place of the cointreau

What to Serve with Pineapple Turmeric Margaritas

    • Corn and Black Bean Salsa
    • Sweet and Salty Cheese Board
    • Mango Avocado Salsa
    • Avocado Chimichurri Dip
    • Healthy Guacamole

If you hover over the servings number in the recipe card (it is currently set to 1), you can slide it to the number of people you will be serving and it will adjust accordingly. Let me know if you have further questions!
